I have started something NEW!! Painting on canvasses!! I saw a canvas at TJMAXX I really liked but thought ....I could do it better!!... so I bought some canvases and am totally inspired by a new creative outlet....I LOVE sayings and collect quotes....now I am illustrating them ...I am on fire!!

Was so tickled we had snowy days as I got to stay home all warm and cozy with the woodstove & cookstove fired up and created ..music playing and Finnegan laying at my feet....paradise!!...I moved my paints down to the kitchen table in front of my french doors and windows so I could watch the snow & the birds as I was painting.......One of the canvasses I came up with...

"Lucy Playing in the Leaves"

Did you get a bobbi becker for Christmas?....these were some of the special orders I did for this Christmas season I thought you'd enjoy ....and if you are very very good....who knows what Santa will bring next year ???

Jessica got an early bobbi becker Christmas gift!

She loved my "Jumping in the Leaves " and asked me to paint her beloved "Lucy", a French Bulldog,with THE cutest face....

playing in the leaves....too cute and such fun to paint!!

Two of my very favorite people recently had their 1st grandchild....and asked me to create a very special Birth Certificate for him...how lucky am I to be part of the JOY!!!??

Their son and his family live close to the beach and have a dog...so we brainstormed and came up with this design....

Another dear customer wanted a special birth certificate for her brother's 1st baby....The parents had a beloved bulldog named Winston, who I imagined as a "stork" bringing the baby to the new parents...soooo much fun to create...oh I do love silliness...and so did Heather and Todd! YAY!!

The sign I created for their Yoga Studio...

Mike called me and asked me to make a sign for the door to his wife's and daughter's yoga studio he was redoing for them for Xmas... I asked him....so what does she like??? Oh! He says she really likes Red-Tail Hawks...(all I need is a theme...its like planning a party!!) And he said the room's colors are purple and navy blue...I was already thinking purple for some reason,....Mike and I were on the same wavelength!

Matt stopped by and wanted to get a special gift for his wife for Christmas....a painting of their beautiful home....It just so happens that Matt is the son of the man I bought the stone from for my house. Dick had a barn that had ,sadly, burned down and I asked him if he wanted to sell the stone from it...he said yes but he wanted some of the stone,too for his son to build his house...how cool is that??... painting a house with our shared stone! I was honored...

It just so happens that lately in my "moon watching" there has been a ring around the moon and I have been fascinated by it ...so somehow that came out in this painting...I decided I LOVED the blue of the sky and made the trees darker(usually my paintings have a dark blue sky ...but I wanted to feel the moon's glow on a cloudy night )...the shadows of the trees on the snow...I could feel the snowy crisp night!?! I think this is one of mt best pieces of the year...I shoulda' paid him...it was effortless to paint as I listened to classical music in my studio...painting is such pure joy for me!!! FaaLaa La La Laaaaa

This is an original I did....somedays??? the faces just appear...like magic....I loved the expression on the lil' girl's face holding the basket....

Welcome to my life- Finnegan!!

He is a 6 month old Border Collie/ Pyrenees mix-40lbs so far...look at those paws! He just reminded me of a dog perched on the hills of Ireland...he has a jaunty walk...and barks with an Irish brogue...I melted! He is very sweet and calm ....I was very lucky....he is crazy happy for about a 1/2 hour then lays down amd sleeps the rest of the day....altho' he does like to chew...so far a lover of empty milk jugs and sadly my vintage persian lamb jacket :(.......I look forward to adding Finnegan to my paintings ...he is such a delight ...just what I needed in my life...(except when he is racing around the house in the morning when I am trying to paint...)

On a sad note I had to put my beloved Pyrenees, Beau , down after he got Lyme's disease for the 2nd time. A great dog and friend ....many of my paintings with him are sweet memories for me now....

A bobbi becker MOON!!

Since today is Full Moon I'm feeling a lil' crazy and thought I would show you what I've created....bobbi becker Moons! As you all know I LOVE the moon...shining down so kindly, protectively in the night sky....I love painting the faces, thought it be FuN to have a bobbi becker Moon to hang on the wall...I sold one to a teenage girl who's whole bedroom is in moons...needless to say she was "mooning over" my work!!

I have two new "boys" in my life...and I am delighted!! Tucker the kitten...who came to me by chance after I lost a cat...and Mako who needed a home because a friend was moving outta the area...how could I say no when Victoria told me he acted like a dog...he comes when I call him...lets himself out, goes to the door when he wants out and growls at my dog if he tries to come up the steps while Mako is taking a catnap on them!!! To say the least he is VERY self-assured ! And so adoring and affectionate..they both are so motivated by love and affection...good boys!! They come running out to greet me when I come home...the best...

"You're Sweet"
The first lil' "gift" design I sent

Oh! I do so love apples and beautiful Adams County....recently I was "discussing" playfully with a friend about our favorite apples...they like Fuji...I LOVE Honey Crisp....it became a lil' game we played about which was the better apple variety ...each trying to persuade the other! Such fun ...bantering back & forth....

This is what I do as an artist inspired by silliness....soon I was drawing lil' gifts I would send them.

I noticed when I was in the produce section I could make new friends by asking them which apple variety they liked (still sneakily promoting my beloved Honey Crisp!! ) And I realized??? EVERYONE loves apples!! YAY!! An idea was born.....I started brainstorming with friends about designs with "Apple " themes ....and here is what the crazzy artist and Apple Queen that I am came up with!!!!

They are 5x7 cards printed on ivory card stock and come with an apple red envelope to match!!

Summertime ...

Summer begins ....

A first for me on Memorial Day, I attended the Gettysburg Memorial Day Parade with dear friends. We met a Southern gentleman on the way...he was so kindly giving me his card, just in case I ever needed anything? Guess even war heroes can't resist a pretty girl in a big hat....

The real "moments" came after the Parade as we walked to Evergreen Cemetary....all the soldiers graves were decorated with flags and flowers by local children....it was very touching and I felt the "real" meaning of Memorial Day...and YES!! it will be an inspiration for future bobbi becker paintings

At the end of the Memorial Day program a reenactor played "Taps" on a trumpet (Can you see him back by the trees to the right ?)....it was the most inspiring rendition I ever heard ...slow, mournful,....passionate...in that incredible setting...yes ..so moving ....what a wonderful experience

Am up with the birds and loving it!! Male Cardinal is outside my window singing to me as I write this!! Oh so lucky to be serenaded in the morning by one who is so handsome!!

The bluebells are starting to bloom down by the creek...Trillium in my wild garden and the woods are alive with beautiful purple Rebud trees...please come visit so I can share this with you!!!
So I don't know if i ever asked...how many of you are gardeners?? I am part-time-- it is a very relaxing activity in the evening......I love my raised beds in my lil' fenced garden ...a wee paradise...the brick paths are beautiful when they are weed free..which is a constant job!! As sloppy as I am in the house I just love looking out my windows and seeing those clean brick paths!???/ I Know I 'm whacked(a new card???)... I had to get a new weedwacker to assist me in this job...7.2 horsepower!!??? I 'm practically air born holding onto it!! WooWeee?! Them' paths iz' clear in no time!!

I also saw my 1st bat Monday night...I'm sure this may make some of you squeamish??? I love to watch their crooked dance as they fly in the open areas of my woods... Round and round and diving for bugs usually two of them together... And they eat mosquitoes! Which I noticed,too, are already out as they let me know it was time to go in as they attacked me at 7:30pm!

Gardening is a world of its own...and I love getting lost in it...creating order and beauty??...you know me and being outside and nature....oh I have had fun watching the birds...Doves, Robins, Chickadees and Cardinals all building nests close to where I can see them from my windows.

Better get to painting!! and Beau is longing for a walk by the creek.....
